Whether it’s your hobby or your full-time lifestyle – van life allows you to see some stunning remote places, travel at your own pace and have your personal necessities with you at all times! Regardless of where you might be in the world! If you are travelling in your own van, you can wake up surrounded by the most breathtaking scenery and still be able to make yourself a coffee and sip it in bed.
Like so many other countries, Germany has experienced a crazy increase in people pursuing the van life. Because its’ popularity is on an all-time high, people looking to start their own van life journey are struggling to find affordable vans to convert. The beautiful nature Germany has to offer as well as its’ geographical location are – without doubt – the main reason, why more and more German citizens of all ages are purchasing vans which they then convert themselves.
Whether you fancy travelling the choppy coastline, going hiking in the dense black forest, sailing on the Lake of Constance or exploring the streets and the history of Berlin – your van will take you anywhere within a day in Germany.
Likewise, you can venture hassle-free into countries such as Poland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy or Austria within a day or two.
For those of you who are thinking of starting their own van life journey in Germany or are already living the joyous van life, we have compiled a list of the best Campervan YouTube Channels to watch in Germany. Keep reading and get inspired!
What are the best Campervan Youtube channels to watch in Germany in 2024
1) Sprintour
Meet Timo and Alina! The couple runs the Campervan YouTube Channel Sprintour.
Timo and Alina share their passion for travelling as well as exploring the beautiful outdoors wherever they are!
They bought a van and converted it to travel around Europe. In the course of the preparation for their travels, they quit their jobs, moved out of their apartment and sold their belongings. It took them 4 months in total to convert their van until the outcome matched their idea of a dream van. Since Timo and Alina used to work for a car manufacturer in Germany, they already had some valuable pre-knowledge (which they share with us in their videos!).
While they initially planned to travel across Europe for just a year, things took a different turn.
Like it has happened to so many others… potentially including you… Timo and Alina fell in love very quickly with the van lifestyle. They kept exploring and ended up making van conversions their full-time profession. Awesome! Timo and Alina now run their own business since 2020. Their current project is the conversion of a Volkswagen Crafter Bayer into a home on wheels.
Lucky for us, they always share their current conversion projects on their YouTube Channel Sprintour. Whilst watching their videos, you will very likely get answers to your how-to questions and maybe some inspiration for your own DIY van conversion!
While Timo grew up camping, Alina only got into camping when she met Timo.
Thanks to their many van conversions, Timo and Alina have amassed a huge pile of van knowledge. Through their Campervan YouTube Channel, they want to share all that inside knowledge and their practical tips with their viewers. Great!

2) FräuleinÖko
If you are looking for some inspiration on how to live life on the road yet still pursue a sustainable lifestyle, we’ve got the perfect Campervan YouTube Channel for you! Svenja from the YouTube channel FräuleinÖko loves the van life and is a strong believer of living sustainably. In her videos on her channel, she covers topics such as how to avoid using plastic on the road or how to follow a sustainable (often vegan) diet.
During the height of the pandemic, Svenja took us along on her van trips where she would venture into the nature. Once the lockdown restrictions had been lifted, Svenja set off for her big tour around Europe in her home on wheels. Check out her channel to see some awesome nature in remote places across Europe and to get an idea of what van life in various European countries (such as Sweden) approximately costs.
On her channel, you’ll also find inspiration on how to go eco-camping, inside tips on how to limit your gas usage and many more useful topics.

3) Van On Track
Another couple who has decided to ditch the 9 to 5 cycle and head out to explore the world instead are Christina and Sven.
To share the insights they gather on their journey with the van life community, they have set up their Campervan YouTube Channel VanOnTrack.
Christina and Sven are the ideal example of great teamwork. While Sven is in charge of building, constructing as well as getting the necessary gear and navigating their home on wheels, Christina is responsible for making their van feel as comfortable and homy as possible as well as for any logistical issues. Awesome!
The two discovered their love for the outdoors back in 2015, when they went on their first proper hiking holiday. Following their holiday, they decided they wanted to be closer to nature and bought a Fiat Double Maxi XL. Head to their YouTube Channel VanOnTrack to check out their step by step DIY van conversion. Here, you’ll also find the gear and equipment they use and recommend as well as awesome video shots from their tours and excursions (such as to Norway or Scotland). Their ultimate aim is to offer “Help for self-builders”. Great!
If you are based in Germany or are travelling through Germany and find your van in need of repairs or updates, feel free to drop Sven and Christina a message since the couple also offers their help for any kind of repair services in and around vans. Very useful!

4) Peace Love and Om
Peace Love and Om is a slightly different Campervan YouTube Channel to the ones we have introduced you to so far. Unlike the other travellers, Peace Love and Om mainly invites other van lifers and people living alternative lifestyles on to their channel.
Peace Love and Om then encourages them to present their way of living, the advantages and disadvantages as well as their home. These alternative homes range from anything between a tiny house to a van. Very often, the homes have in common that they represent some form of minimalistic lifestyle. Moreover, Peace Love and Om gives their followers tips and tricks on living location independently and self-determined.
Since the people presented on the channel live in all different places around the world, you will find important know-how on what to consider when attempting to live in your van in various countries.

5) Freundship
Like Peace Love and Om, Freundship presents different campervans on a daily basis. Besides that, they update their viewers with any new DIY instructions for modifications on your van.
Dominik, the founder of Vans of germany, initially set up the Campervan YouTube Channel in 2017 to have a platform on which to unite the German DIY campervan community.
Great idea! Questions asked by any community member almost never stay unanswered and passionate van lifers inspire each other to try new DIY van modifications or van tours in and around Germany.

7) Viktoria Tschernenko
Finally, we’ve got an inspirational solo traveller for you! Viki and her dog Cleo have been travelling in their self-converted vans since Viki quit her job as an architect back in 2017.
Travelling had always been her passion and she has been giving it her full attention since making the brave decision to quit her job. It has paid off! Viki is loving life on the road and has not converted 1, but 3 vans! Impressive!
Her Campervan YouTube Channel Viktoria Tschernenko is all about van life, wild camping and how to live minimalistically. Like FräuleinÖko, Viki focuses on living a sustainable lifestyle whilst on the road and producing as little (plastic) waste as possible.
She shares with her viewers the gear she uses and how she has fitted out her van to ultimately reach her goal of living sustainably. Very useful! Head to Viki’s YouTube channel to see all the amazing destinations, such as Russia, Europe and Central Asia, which she has travelled to in her van so far.
